BAKGRUND

Definition

Charcotfot är en icke-infektiös osteoartropati (sönderfall av skelettdelar och leder) som drabbar ben, leder och mjukdelar av foten och fotleden hos patienter med neuropati. Tillståndet karaktäriseras av patologiska frakturer och dislokation av fotens leder vilket kan leda till deformitet vid sen eller utebliven behandling. Tillståndet är en sällsynt senkomplikation till diabetes med samtidig perifer sensorisk och sensomotorisk neuropati.
